This was my second senior portrait session with the beautiful, and so very funny Josephine (Josie), from Bigfork High School's class of 2020.
For our SUMMER SESSION, Josie and I had a CRAZY adventure in Glacier National Park...if you missed it you should definitely TAKE A LOOK. So for fall, we decided to stick close to home and try out a few never photographed before spots, and a few of my tried and true favorites. It was a warm, sunshine filled day (remember those?) so we started in a wooded area with lots of warm wine tones in the bushes because Josie looks so great in maroons and reds. Then we made our way to the Flathead River where the fall colors were at their peak and my favorite birch grove had completely turned but the leaves were holding tight to their branches still...we timed this session so very perfectly.
Next we headed to Saint John Paul II Catholic Church in Bigfork where Josie attends and wanted to get some photos taken at. Their building is so very beautiful inside and out and although I have photographed there many times, I have not taken senior portraits at this location so I was excited for the challenge. Josie's rust colored dress was so perfect with the stone accents and greenery wall close to the church, but even better with the full building in her background, steeple and all, underneath the snow capped mountains. These were favorites for sure....
From there we headed to a big open field close by that provided a perfect background for sunset. The mountains were so vibrant blue and outlined with trees just beginning to show their fall yellows. And, I really loved this floral dress Josie brought and thought it was perfect at this spot. So we used up all the daylight at this beautiful location before calling it a night and heading back to the studio.
Josie, you are amazing. Thank you for laughing, being willing to get a little silly, sharing funny stories, and adventuring with me. I am thrilled to see what the future holds for you, it will be epic. Have an amazing rest of your senior year sweet friend, keep smiling.
xoxo...Shawna
