There are a lot of factors I can control on family portrait day but if we are shooting outside, the weather is not one of them .... I feel like I check my weather app more than instagram most days and let me just say living in Montana, this can be slightly stressful.
This shoot with the Truckey family was planned with a beautiful view of the mountains in mind which I fully expected to have on the date of their session. But, as I was driving to them the clouds began to roll in and within minutes the mountains were completely covered and the snow began to fall. Oh dear...
Thankfully, I have seen the road that they live on and have thought to myself a few times while passing by there that I should take family portraits at that location some day...well, that day had arrived. I quickly went to their house minutes away from where we planned to meet, everyone was dressed and ready to go so I pulled them out into the road and we raced to beat the storm. The falling snow was so beautiful and the road made a perfect winter backdrop for their session.
I adore this family and all they do for our community. I have actually photographed most of the Truckey children once before but the family has since added a 5th kiddo so it was such a perfect time to get all of them together and even have Mom and Dad in this shoot as well.
Thanks for having me Truckey Family!
xoxo Shawna
